St John Bread and Wine, Spitalfields is housed in an old bank, and involved a complete strip out to convert the banking hall into restaurant and bar with bakery / kitchen and ancilliary services in the basement, where the vault remains.
St. John Hotel, Chinatown was a 16-bedroom hotel with bar and lounge and a large restaurant at ground floor. The works involved adding two storeys to the building and a complete strip out of the interior including walls and floors. The design and detail were developed closely with the client and use a mix of Shaker and Scandinavian influences. The menu and ethos however are Modern British.
Fergus Henderson, the owner and chef is Annabelle’s brother.
